Sára Skoczková David Tureček

Billboard, 2022

objekt, cement, písek, dřevo, železo, lepidlo, PVC, papír | 220 x 110 x 40 cm

As a sculptor, Sára Skoczková seeks balance and calmness in her work, a distinctive expression for the representation of emotions and their principles. She is fascinated by the interior spaces of sculptures, which she creates as certain external repository for the mind and body. Creation is a very intimate matter for her, during the process she naturally resonates with the sculpture, establishes a personal relationship and follows intuitively its growth, she does not try to bend the shapes or subdue them. She patiently searches for the most natural way to preserve the emerging statue its own life and energy. David Tureček connects two levels in his work. One is concrete, often figurative, lasts from the very beginning and contains "classical" sculptural principles. The second, abstract level, is focused on the process and the search for a raw balance between the concept, processing and direct expression of materials. Mostly it is an intuitive composing of non-specific compositions, the result of which is only to evoke various impressions and moods. Both levels are connected by a common theme, often directed towards sensitive childhood and adolescence.

OFF THE WALL

INTERNATIONAL STREET ART PROJECT

OFF THE WALL is a unique project celebrating modern art in the public space of the Lesser Town Embankment and protecting this magical place right in the historical centre of Prague in the Lesser Town, a short walk from Charles Bridge and the renowned Museum of Modern Art - Museum Kampa.

Our goal is to offer artists an inspiring environment for artistic creation and mutual interaction while working at the same venue. We bring live painting, entertainment and valuable artistic experiences to the audience. At the same time, we are actively protecting the clean walls in these beautiful romantic places from the devastating vandalism of illegal graffiti.

The zero edition of the unique show of domestic and world street art, graffiti, murals, sculptures, objects and installations took place from 26 to 28 August 2022 with the participation of 25 artists from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria, Holland, Great Britain, Ireland and Argentina. The project also included specialized workshops led by experienced artists, expert lectures and painting for the public.

During the three-day event, the historically first "sticker wall" in Prague was created, the author of which is Jitka Kopejtková. A total of 37 artists from 17 countries – Germany, Brazil, Italy, Russia, Indonesia, Granada, Belgium, the Netherlands, Slovakia, New Zealand, Peru, Sweden, Austria, USA, Poland, Czech Republic, France and Spain – collaborated on this work remotely.

# All paintings and collages have been created on a special, elastic and very durable material, which was developed by experts exclusively for the street art project Off the Wall. The surface of this material is indistinguishable similar in structure to the surface of a wall with a delicate stucco plaster.
